Updated: Sep 28, 2019
Now with all the new iPads, it can be confusing on which to get, but this will help make the decision a lot easier. Now there is iPad Air, iPad, iPad Pro, and iPad mini, coming in with prices ranges from as low as $299 to as high as $1,699! This Article will be separated into 3 categories, professional use, student, and every day.
If you're using your iPad every day for your job then you should either get the iPad Air or iPad Pro. If you decided to get the pro then this thing will be an absolute beast. It has the A12x bionic chip, that's the fastest CPU ever in a tablet and will beat higher-end laptops. It has 2nd generation apple pencil support and no home button. It comes in two sizes 11” and 12.9”, it starts at $800 but there is one major issue, it uses USB-C charging cables. That could be really great but if you already have a lot of lighting cables it could be an expense if you don't have other USB-C cables.
The iPad Air starts at $500 and is probably the iPad that is better for most jobs, it's light and has a pretty big screen for how small the device actually is. It can slip into a bag easily and is small enough to carry in your hands. It uses an A12 Bionic chip which is slightly slower than what the iPad Pro uses but is still insanely fast. It supports the first-generation Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard.
Get the normal iPad. It starts at $330 but its $300 for students. It is compatible with the first-generation Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard. The Apple Pencil is 10% off for students and is great for taking notes. This iPad can do a lot of things that students need on a daily basis such as reading, notes, presentations and writing essays. It’s small, the cheapest, and can do a lot.
This is a tricky one but if you just need something to write emails, read books, play music, and browse the internet the normal iPad would probably be the best. It’s not the fastest nor the most advanced but it's great for the price and most consumers will be very happy with it.
